Job Overview

Primary point of contact for customers regarding testing progress, providing timely updates, answering inquiries and ensuring smooth communication between testing teams and customers.

Work Hours

Full‑time, 47.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer enquiries at first point of contact where possible.
  • Communicate delays in analysis to customers at required service levels, specifically for samples sent to partner laboratories.
  • Transfer customer queries to the appropriate person within the business when first‑contact resolution is not possible.
  • Provide accurate, valid and complete information using appropriate methods and tools.
  • Communicate directly with clients about additional sample analysis requirements and any queries during the registration process via email or telephone.
  • Support all areas of the Subcontracting department as directed by the Team Leader or department Coordinator.
  • Register, prepare and analyze samples as required.
  • Assist the laboratory in maintaining a turnaround time of >94%, ensuring daily targets are achieved.
  • Maintain high professionalism and establish a positive rapport with every caller.
  • Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
  • Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with the Health & Safety policy.
  • Work with the team to drive laboratory continuous improvement and support best practices to meet UKAS accreditation standards.

Qualifications

  • Good laboratory skills and practices.
  • Laboratory and production experience is advantageous.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic and driven.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Maths, English, Chemistry or Biology at GCSE grade C or above, or equivalent.
