Job Description
Group Functions Change is a great place to kick-start your career and learn how change works in a large organisation. As an apprentice, you'll support projects across L&G's central functions – including Finance, HR, Risk, Technology, Procurement and Corporate Services – gaining insight into how different teams work together and learning how meaningful change happens at scale to improve the business.
This role is based primarily in our Hove office, where you'll work closely with friendly and supportive colleagues, learn on the job, and take part in regular face‑to‑face collaboration. You'll be encouraged to ask questions and build new skills all whilst developing practical experience, working with people from across the wider organisation.
Your role at a glance
You’ll learn on the job with the support of experienced Business Analysts while completing your Level 4 Business Analyst apprenticeship. You’ll help explore business problems, ask questions, and contribute to developing practical solutions, while building your skills, confidence and understanding of how change is delivered.
In this role, you will:
- Support the planning and facilitation of workshops to gather and analyse business requirements
- Produce clear, high‑quality documentation in line with agreed standards
- Learn to document 'as is' and 'to be' business processes
- Collaborate with project team members, including Project Managers, Testers and Architects
Who we’re looking for
We’re not expecting prior industry experience, but we’ll want to see that you have the tools to develop quickly. Capabilities include:
- Curiosity and a strong desire to learn
- An analytical mindset with keen problem‑solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with great attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A flexible, collaborative team player
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or keen to develop these skills
To qualify for the programme, you will need
- GCSE Maths and English grade C/4 or equivalent
- Minimum 96 UCAS points from your Level 3 Qualifications i.e. A levels or equivalent
- To not currently be on a government funded training course, e.g. on apprenticeship
- To not hold a similar qualification at the same level or above
- The right to work in the UK and have lived in the UK for the past 3 consecutive years.
Benefits
At L&G, we believe it's possible to generate positive returns today while helping to build a better future for all. If you join us, you'll be part of a welcoming, inclusive culture, with opportunities to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds, views and experiences. Guided by leaders with integrity who care about your future and wellbeing. Empowered through initiatives which support people to develop their careers and excel. We care passionately about outcomes rather than attendance and are therefore open to discussing all kinds of flexible working options including part‑time, term‑time and job shares. Although some roles have limited flexibility due to customer demand, we accommodate requests when we can.
