Core Responsibilities

As a Mortgage Underwriter you’ll play a key role in managing secured loan applications from start to finish, ensuring they are processed accurately, comply with company and regulatory standards, and meet clients’ unique needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manual underwriting secured loans from application to authorization

  • Efficiently process loan applications, ensuring compliance with internal policies and FCA regulations

  • Authorize loans within specified limits

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments based on financial stability

  • Maintain effective communication with clients, brokers, and stakeholders

  • Manage a personal caseload, ensuring timely progress from application to completion

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 12 months’ experience assessing or processing loan applications – ideally in second charge lending or motor finance

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Knowledge of financial regulations and lending practices

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Work Arrangement

Hybrid working available after probation (6 months). Up to 2 days per week remote.
