Sales Account Manager, Automated Inspection Equipment

Location: West Midlands based, must be commutable

Salary: Up to £45,000–£50,000 basic + company car + benefits

We are recruiting for a Sales Account Manager to join a specialist manufacturer of automated inspection and quality assurance equipment supplied into pharmaceutical, beverage and food production environments.

This is a technical sales role focused on growing the UK pharmaceutical market initially, while also developing new opportunities across beverage and food manufacturing. The successful candidate will sell state-of-the-art inspection equipment used for brand protection, quality assurance and production line efficiency.

The Role

  • Grow new business opportunities across pharmaceutical, beverage and food manufacturing
  • Sell automated inspection and quality assurance equipment into production and packaging environments
  • Manage opportunities ranging from smaller equipment sales through to high-value capital projects
  • Liaise with customers, arrange site visits and attend project meetings
  • Prepare budget quotations and maintain accurate CRM records for account planning and forecasting
  • Work closely with the UK project team and product specialists in Germany
  • Support existing customers while expanding the current UK client base
  • Attend exhibitions, customer open days and presentations when required
  • Travel to customer sites nationally, with occasional travel to Germany for training and customer meetings

The Candidate

  • Experience within an industrial, engineering or technical sales environment
  • Ideally sold inspection equipment, automation, packaging machinery or technical capital equipment into FMCG, beverage, food or pharmaceutical markets
  • Business, engineering or technical background preferred
  • Degree or HNC level qualification in a relevant business or technical discipline would be advantageous
  • Strong communicator with a tenacious, professional approach to customer engagement
  • Comfortable developing new business as well as supporting existing accounts
  • Full UK driving licence required
  • Must be commutable to Tamworth
