Local Housing Manager – Retirement Living (Temporary)
Winslow, Buckinghamshire £18.40 per hour (PAYE) / Umbrella option available Temporary (sickness cover until end of July – potential extension) Flexible hours between 8am-6pm Part-time considered (min. 3 days)
The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Local Housing Manager to join a Retirement Living scheme in Winslow, providing vital sickness cover.
This is a rewarding, customer-facing role at the heart of a vibrant scheme, where you'll support older residents to live independently while ensuring the building remains safe, compliant, and well managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage tenancies, including rent accounts, arrears prevention, and voids
- Oversee health & safety compliance, property checks, and repairs
- Coordinate and manage contractors (cleaning, grounds maintenance, etc.)
- Handle ASB, complaints, and safeguarding concerns
- Build strong relationships with residents and promote community engagement
- Work collaboratively with families, external agencies, and local services
- Support residents with wellbeing and welfare benefit queries, maximising income where needed
What We're Looking For
- Experience within social housing, ideally working with older or vulnerable residents
- Strong knowledge of housing management and tenancy sustainment
- Confident managing compliance, contractors, and scheme operations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- IT literate with experience using housing systems and maintaining GDPR-compliant records
Additional Requirements
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential Flexibility to occasionally cover nearby schemes if required
