An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Credit Control Supervisor to join a well-regarded Higher Education organisation based in London. This role is vital in providing high-quality operational and supervisory support to the Credit Control function, ensuring effective debt recovery, accurate account management, and excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the credit control process to ensure timely collection of outstanding debt
  • Supervise and support credit control staff, monitoring workloads and performance
  • Proactively chase overdue balances via phone, email, and written correspondence
  • Review aged debt reports and implement appropriate recovery actions
  • Investigate and resolve complex payment queries and disputes in a timely manner
  • Ensure accurate allocation of payments and reconciliations of customer accounts
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with internal procedures and audit requirements
  • Support escalated cases, including recommending further recovery action where necessary
  • Manage shared finance inboxes, ensuring queries are responded to promptly and professionally
  • Support month-end reporting, controls, and reconciliation processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the Credit Control team

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in a credit control role, with experience supervising or supporting others
  • Strong knowledge of debt recovery processes and financial controls
  • Confident communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational capability
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Customer-focused approach with a professional and resilient manner
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel and experience with financial systems
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a busy environment

Location: London

Working Pattern: Hybrid

Hours: 35.5 hours per week

Length: 3-month temporary contract

Start Date: ASAP

Rate: £250 per day (Umbrella)
