About Amodo
We are a Sheffield based start‑up providing expert engineering consultancy to a variety of clients and industries. We primarily focus on engineered product design and work in a range of industries and contexts from quantum computing and biotech to heavy industry and animal welfare. We have a focus on ethical and sustainable delivery, and choose projects that matter, delivering the best solutions for our clients while keeping our values intact.
About the Role
Successful candidates will work alongside our multidisciplinary team to design and develop cutting‑edge solutions, systems, and products.
Required Qualifications
- Strong background in mechanical design – concepts, calculations, and CAD
- Track record leading high‑value projects from concept to successful completion
- Extensive experience with GD&T and fully defined engineering drawings
- Experience with design for manufacture and manufacturing systems
- Interest in or experience in practical making and familiarity with a toolbox
- 5+ years experience post‑qualification in senior engineering roles
Desirable Competencies
- Chartered Engineer
- Familiarity with electrical and electronics
- Programming competence (preferably python, cpp)
- Expertise in design for multiple specific manufacturing processes, particularly injection moulding and precision machining
- Eye for beautiful as well as practical design
