Overview
- Establish criminal defence firm seeking a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join a busy team focused on privately funded criminal work.
- Manage a varied caseload of criminal matters while supporting Senior Lawyers on complex cases and taking responsibility for your own files where appropriate.
- Involved in all aspects of case preparation including client liaison, drafting legal documents and progressing matters through to conclusion.
- Excellent opportunity to transition from criminal legal aid work into private criminal defence within a supportive and well regarded firm.
- Opportunity to contribute to business growth through developing client relationships and supporting business development initiatives.
- Required: Newly Qualified Solicitor with experience in criminal law, ideally gained within a Criminal Legal Aid setting.
- Strong understanding of criminal procedure and ability to manage your own workload with appropriate supervision.
- Excellent communication skills with a professional, proactive and client‑focused approach.
- Highly organised, able to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and motivated to develop a career in private criminal defence.
