About HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS)
HM Courts & Tribunals Service is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family courts and tribunals in England and Wales. We support our service users and colleagues within HMCTS, ensuring access to potentially life‑changing justice.
About Your Role
Servicing the Nottingham Court within HMCTS’ East Midlands region, you will work closely with the Operations Manager and Court Delivery Managers. Your key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the court team to ensure smooth operation and high‑quality customer service.
- Meeting operational needs and delivering performance objectives.
- Building positive working relationships with the judiciary, supporting agencies, voluntary groups and court users.
- Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Managing complaints, completing corrective actions within set timescales.
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, IT/Workstation standards and reporting court facilities issues to HMCTS Estates.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Hands‑on problem‑solving with strong engagement across all levels.
- Effective leadership with the ability to motivate, develop and support a team.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with all court users and stakeholders.
- Proven experience in planning, setting local priorities and aligning with national/regional strategies.
- Ability to manage budgets, allocate resources and oversee training and development.
- Commitment to customer service, employee engagement and continuous professional improvement.
Working Hours and Location
- Standard full‑time: 37 hours per week. Part‑time, flexible and job‑sharing arrangements are considered where they meet the role’s demands.
- Location: Nottingham Justice Centre, Carrington Street, Nottingham NG2 1EE or Nottingham County Court, 60 Canal Street, Nottingham, NG1 7EJ.
