Electrical Controls, Commissioning and Panel Engineer (2605/11) Bishop's Stortford, England
Salary: £48,000 – £52,000 per annum + depending on experience
Location: Bishop’s Stortford – easy access from the M11 junction, near Stansted Airport
Role overview:
An established engineering and manufacturing business is looking for an Electrical Controls, Commissioning and Panel Engineer to support the wiring, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical control panels and skid‑mounted systems. The role also includes fault finding and breakdown support on installed equipment, both in‑house and at client sites.
Key responsibilities
- Controls work and electrical panel wiring
- Read and interpret electrical drawings/schematics
- Electrical installation of systems at client sites
- Testing and commissioning of electrical panels, skids, and associated equipment
- Fault finding, breakdown response and corrective repairs to restore operation
- Safe, competent use of power tools and hand tools
Required experience / skills
- Experience in controls and panel wiring
- Ability to read electrical drawings
- Familiar with power tools and hand tools
- Strong fault‑finding mindset and practical, safety‑first approach
Desired experience
- PLCs and HMIs (user/diagnostic experience advantageous)
- Commissioning of electrical panels and skids
- Testing and commissioning of electrical equipment
