Join our team as a Software Validation Engineer and play a key role in ensuring the safety, robustness, and performance of complex embedded software within automotive and electrified vehicle systems. You’ll work in a regulated, process‑driven engineering environment where high‑voltage systems, rigorous validation, and traceable requirements are essential.
This role offers hands‑on exposure to software validation and integration across complex systems, supporting the delivery of compliant and high‑quality software within modern automotive and EV programmes.
Location: London
On‑site: 3–4 days per week
Seniority: Mid–Senior level
Clearance: Eligibility for UK security clearance may be required depending on project
Key Responsibilities
- Verify embedded software against defined requirements, specifications, and acceptance criteria
- Design, document, and execute software validation and test cases at system and integration level
- Support software integration within complex automotive or embedded platforms
- Validate software interacting with high‑voltage (HV) systems, particularly within EV architectures
- Analyse test results, identify non‑conformances, and support root‑cause investigation
- Ensure validation activities align with automotive development processes and compliance expectations
- Collaborate closely with software, systems, hardware, and test teams throughout the V‑cycle
- Produce clear validation documentation with strong traceability and compliance evidence
Required Skills
- Experience in software validation within automotive or embedded systems
- Hands‑on exposure to high‑voltage (HV) systems (EV experience strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of automotive development methodologies (V‑cycle, ASPICE awareness is a plus)
- Proven ability to design and execute structured validation and verification activities
- Experience supporting software integration within multi‑disciplinary engineering systems
- Ability to analyse complex test data and ensure compliance with requirements
- Familiarity with validation tools, test environments, and test frameworks
- Strong documentation and analytical skills within regulated environments
- Clear and methodical communicator across engineering disciplines
- Quality‑driven mindset with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working within process‑heavy, compliance‑focused programmes
- Proactive, structured, and accountable approach to technical delivery
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience in embedded / automotive environments)
- Experience working on electric vehicle (EV) or electrified powertrain platforms
- Exposure to ASPICE, ISO‑aligned development processes, or safety‑regulated environments
- Understanding of system‑level testing across software, hardware, and vehicle domains
- Familiarity with requirements management and traceability tools
