A well-established Managed Service Provider based in Cheltenham is looking to add an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to its growing technical team. This is a hybrid role offering a great balance between customer‑facing consultancy work and home working.
You’ll work with a varied customer base, covering on‑premise, hybrid and cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on VMware, Windows Server, security and Microsoft 365.
The Role
- Deliver infrastructure consultancy and project work for MSP customers
- Design, implement and support data centre and hybrid solutions
- Act as a technical escalation point and trusted advisor to customers
- Spend time on‑site with customers as well as working from home (circa 2 days per week WFH)
- Collaborate closely with service desk and projects teams
Technical Requirements
- Strong MSP or IT consultancy background
- Solid data centre experience, particularly VMware
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID)
- Strong understanding of security principles (hardening, MFA, backup & DR)
- Confident dealing directly with customers
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car
- Backup and disaster recovery solutionsMicrosoft or VMware certifications
