We’re looking for an experienced and driven Lead ECC Project Manager to play a key role in delivering a variety of projects within our AMP8 Capital Investment Programme. In this role, you will drive and enable our ECC Project Management teams in contract, commercial and assurance management of NEC3 PSC & ECC contracts across our Tier 1 Supply Chain, for a diverse portfolio valued between £1.5 m and £50 m.

You’ll provide day‑to‑day leadership to ECC Project Management teams, ensuring contracts are managed effectively, aligned to best practice, and fostering collaboration for continuous improvement. You’ll develop and embed robust contract management and assurance processes, maximise efficiency, deliver value and exceed customer expectations.

Furthermore, you will lead and develop a team of ECC Project Managers, supporting their growth and ensuring they deliver outcomes in line with the NEC Competency Framework.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead robust contract management and administration of NEC contracts across Alliances, implementing strategies and assurance frameworks, providing commercial leadership, managing change control and resolving contractual issues.
  • Oversee ECC PM teams and project performance through reporting and governance activities, leading performance reviews and managing non‑compliance strategies.
  • Foster a collaborative, transparent culture with stakeholders, promoting contract and commercial awareness.
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives, lead training, embed a commercial culture and champion innovation to build high‑performing teams.
  • Ensure health, safety, wellbeing and environmental priorities are embedded and promoted through leadership and site participation.

What does it take?

Essential experience / qualifications:

  • Degree in construction, engineering or science subject
  • NEC 3 or NEC 4 Project Manager Accreditation
  • Extensive experience in contract and commercial management
  • Significant project management knowledge in a design and construction environment
  • Working knowledge of NEC contract management tools
  • Well‑developed decision‑making capability
  • Experience in managing and developing teams
  • Experience in independently running assurance activities within an NEC contract
