About the Role

Our client is a growing and successful Fire Safety / Ventilation specialist, who has a new requirement for a Fire Stopping Engineer. They are seeking someone with proven hands‑on experience, in addition to robust industry technical knowledge. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, self‑sufficient, and able to manage their own workload efficiently. The role may involve travel and is open to applicants based in Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall, West Bromwich, Stourbridge, Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Redditch, Solihull, Coventry, Rugby, Hinckley, Nuneaton, Droitwich Spa, Worcester, Cannock, Tamworth, Stafford, Rugeley, Lichfield, Swadlincote, Ashby‑de‑la‑Zouch, Coalville, Derby, Nottingham, and Loughborough. Benefits include overtime, training, and a company vehicle.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Hands‑on experience working as a Fire Stopping Engineer
  • Will be qualified with the FIRAS ticket
  • It would be beneficial to hold the NVQ Level 2 in Fire Stopping
  • Excellent industry technical knowledge
  • Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
  • Able to travel as per company requirements

The Role

  • Attending client sites to install fire stopping systems, including mastic, batt, fire resistant sealants and firestop blocks
  • Installing fire curtailing
  • Carrying out compartmentation surveys
  • Analysing the performance of existing installations and highlighting any non‑conformities or faults
  • Making appropriate recommendations for repair or replacement
  • Producing detailed technical reports
  • Working from schematic drawings
  • Adhering to strict safety and compliance guidelines
  • Fostering strong relationships with clients
