Location: Flexible, based at one of our offices in the Midlands, with regular nationwide travel
Salary: £26,409 per annum / 36 hours per week / 12 Month fixed‑term contract
Job type: Fixed‑Term Contract
Ref: 16441

Heritage is for everybody, and we are here for heritage. Heritage lives in places and people, memories and stories, artefacts and traditions. It can connect us all to the past, and to each other. It can make us happier, strengthen every community, and help shape society for the better. Everybody should be able to enjoy the benefits it brings.

This is a full‑time, fixed‑term role for 12 months. You will be part of an eight‑person team and will travel regularly to deliver our national events programme at sites around the country, including some evening and weekend work. While the role involves nationwide travel, you will need to be based in the Midlands. When not on site you may work from one of our offices, from home, or in a hybrid arrangement.

Whether taking the lead on delivery or supporting our site teams, you will be a vital link between our operational teams, central colleagues, and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless planning and execution of events and hires.

  • Salary from £26,409, depending on skills, experience and location

  • Matched pension contributions up to 10%
  • Flexible hours
  • Opportunity to progress your career within the heritage sector
  • Apprenticeship opportunities
  • Subscriptions to professional bodies
  • Free access to all English Heritage sites for you and up to six friends and family members
  • 25% discount in our shops and cafes
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity or shared parental leave
  • Options to buy additional leave
  • An inclusive working atmosphere where everybody is supported from all backgrounds, religions and with different needs
  • Opportunities to attend some of our great live music and history events

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience of event and venue hire delivery in outdoor, heritage or high‑profile settings to join the English Heritage Events team to deliver an exciting programme of events across the country.

As National Events & Venue Hire Delivery Coordinator (Midlands), you will be the on‑site point of contact during event and venue hires, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, smooth operations and excellent visitor and client experiences. You will be confident working with health and safety legislation and licensing requirements, ensuring all events and hires comply with statutory obligations and English Heritage policies.

Working collaboratively with a range of stakeholder teams, you will contribute to the development, planning, and documentation of the events and venue hire programme, and help identify opportunities to enhance and grow our offer.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering events or venue hires, ideally in outdoor, heritage, or high‑profile environments
  • Experience preparing event management plans and risk assessments
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Strong collaborative skills, with experience working with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • A full UK driving licence

Interviews will be held in the week commencing 8 June in our London office.
