We are seeking an experienced Financial Risk Manager to join our dynamic team at a multi‑jurisdictional bank regulated under both EU (CSSF) and UK frameworks. This role will be fast paced, dynamic and is crucial in managing and mitigating financial risks across capital, liquidity, market, and credit risk.
Banking Circle is a fully licensed, technology‑enabled bank processing over €1 trillion in payments every year — and growing. We exist to power the global economy’s most ambitious payments businesses with infrastructure that is fast, modern, and engineered for scale. Today, more than 800 people across 11 countries work together as one global team. We move fast, we think boldly, and we build with intent – because our clients depend on us to keep pace with the world’s most dynamic payments flows. We are expanding globally, scaling our capabilities, and deepening our impact, so if you want to shape the future of financial infrastructure – this is the place.
Your team welcomes you with open arms
As our new skilled Finance Risk Manager in the Risk team in London, you’ll experience an open and knowledge driven culture, where everyone can thrive, connect with colleagues, learn and grow. Here you will be empowered to make an impact every day.
In this role you will get the chance to work on developing, maintaining and enhancing the Bank’s financial risk management framework across capital, liquidity, market and credit risk, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and industry best practice across EU and UK regimes. You report to the Head of Financial Risk in London.
We offer a hybrid work model for our employees to allow for flexibility and productivity. However, we do expect you to spend most of your time in the office to build community and efficiency in the team.
Exciting work is waiting for you
- Develop and enhance financial risk analysis and reporting frameworks, using data, advanced analytics and technology to improve efficiency, consistency and decision‑making insight. Produce and evolve risk dashboards and management information leveraging Python, SQL and Power BI across capital, liquidity and balance‑sheet risks.
- Advance financial risk management capabilities through innovation, automating existing processes and leveraging emerging technologies (including AI) to increase scalability, robustness and forward‑looking insight, while championing a modern, technology‑driven risk vision.
- Contribute to ICAAP, ILAAP and Recovery Planning activities, including capital and liquidity adequacy assessments, stress testing and scenario analysis, ensuring sound methodologies and regulatory‑compliant outcomes.
- Support the design and evolution of stress‑testing frameworks, ensuring effective use of stress results in risk assessment, management actions, capital and liquidity planning, and regulatory submissions.
- Track and interpret regulatory developments (including CRR/CRD, PRA/FCA requirements and supervisory expectations), translating regulatory change into clear frameworks, analysis and practical guidance for the business.
- Provide expert oversight and guidance to international entities and branches, supporting a consistent, coherent and group‑wide approach to financial risk management.
- Act as a key Second Line of Defence reference for financial risks and related regulatory topics, working closely with Treasury, Finance, Credit, Compliance and other Risk functions, and—together with the Head of Financial Risk and the CRO—participating in relevant committees and forums to ensure effective challenge, alignment and structured dialogue between the first and second lines of defence.
Things we’ll look for on your resume
To be the right candidate for this position, you have 5 to 10 years’ experience minimum in financial risk management within regulated financial institutions, ideally in a second line of defence role, with solid exposure to EU and UK prudential regulation (including ECB/CSSF and PRA/FCA expectations).
You bring strong practical knowledge of capital, liquidity, credit and market risk, including IRRBB, frameworks, as well as the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear analysis and management insight. You have strong data and analytics capabilities, and your mindset and work methodologies are driven by innovation and technologies, including SQL, Power BI and Python, and a proven track record of improving processes through automation and the use of new technologies, including AI. You combine strong analytical skills with excellent communication abilities, enabling you to deliver clear, actionable recommendations and engage confidently with senior stakeholders.
Comfortable to work on autonomous way, you take ownership and show initiative, with an open‑minded, rigorous and proactive approach. You are intellectually confident, curious and unafraid to challenge constructively where appropriate, bringing ideas to continuously improve processes and frameworks.
You can communicate complex technical or regulatory topics clearly, collaborate effectively across functions and seniority levels, and remain adaptable and resilient when managing unstructured work, competing priorities and tight deadlines.
