Role Overview

This role is part of the Flood Risk Management team within our Water Management Consultancy. You will own projects and drive development, delivering solutions for clients across markets such as buildings, energy, water, transportation, security and defence. Work is based in the UK with overseas opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical work: data analysis, hydraulic and hydrological modelling, GIS, and technical reporting.
  • Ensure quality assurance of technical deliverables by reviewing junior staff work.
  • Develop and test concepts for flood mitigation solutions, depending on skill level.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists, engineers, and planners to deliver consistent service to clients.
  • Support business development activities, including tendering and client/stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently with minimal support; chartered professionals require less support.
  • Degree in Geography, Science, Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency in 1D/2D hydraulic modelling using Flood Modeller, ESTRY, TUFLOW, InfoWorks ICM or similar.
  • GIS skills.
  • Experience in flood risk analysis for planning, development and design.
  • Experience in hydrological assessment or strong desire to learn.
  • Self‑driven, committed to technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative approach.
  • Adaptable, curious, able to develop new approaches to challenge problems.
  • Organised, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and high standards.
