Salary: £48,000 – £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Location: Canterbury

Job Type: Full time/permanent (Office based)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join a dynamic finance team and deliver high‑quality commercial insight and financial support to business stakeholders. You will play a key role in driving business performance through robust financial analysis, planning, and effective partnership with operational leaders.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the primary finance point of contact for assigned business units, providing clear, pragmatic financial guidance to support decision‑making.
  • Prepare and present monthly management reports, highlighting key drivers, variances and recommendations to improve performance.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and long‑range planning processes, working closely with stakeholders to build realistic and stretch scenarios.
  • Deliver insightful financial analysis and modelling to support business cases, strategic projects and investment decisions.
  • Support month‑end and year‑end close activities, ensuring accuracy of financial results and timely reconciliations.
  • Challenge and influence commercial decisions through actionable financial insight and scenario analysis.
  • Drive development of KPIs and dashboards to monitor performance and support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimise cost, identify efficiencies and improve financial controls.
  • Coach and develop non‑finance colleagues on financial literacy and best practice.

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent finance qualification with demonstrable experience in a business partnering or commercial finance role.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate data into clear, business‑focused recommendations.
  • Excellent financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting skills.
  • Proven experience producing management reporting and explaining complex financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems/ERPs and BI tools.
  • Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Highly analytical with attention to detail and a pragmatic approach to problem‑solving.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
