Cyber Security Operations Lead – Coventry – £55-65k
We are currently working with a business with operations across the UK that is recruiting for a Cyber Security Operations Lead to join them on a permanent basis.
The role will be a combination of hands‑on and leadership, overseeing Information and Cyber Security Analysts and ensuring the smooth running of day‑to‑day security operations.
This is a hybrid role, initially with two‑to‑three days per week on‑site, then reducing to one day per week on‑site.
Responsibilities
- Leading and supporting Security Analysts, including triage of incidents
- Ensuring that the team perform scheduled checks, maintain security controls and resolve any user issues
- Owning and developing the relationship with the outsourced SOC team
- Working closely with engineers to ensure security controls remain up to date
- Carrying out reporting on security incidents, ensuring relevant reporting metrics are in place
- Identifying opportunities for automation and improvement in tools and workflows
- Running programmes to test security controls and measures
- Helping to develop a culture of security across the business
Key skills and experience
- Strong leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and motivate security teams
- Vast hands‑on experience in SOC or Cyber Security Analyst roles
- Excellent understanding of and experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, IAM etc.
- Experience working with ISO27001 and/or similar control frameworks
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Able to maintain a calm approach whilst under pressure
- Eligible for SC Clearance
