About the role
As a Unit Nurse Manager (General) at Derham House care home in Upminster, you will use your compassion and initiative to ensure residents receive high‑quality care. You will plan, manage and monitor nursing delivery, develop person‑centred care plans, plan staff rotas, recruit, train and mentor staff, and liaise with local regulators and social services. You will have the autonomy to strengthen your unit and pursue professional development opportunities.
About you
You must be a Registered Nurse (RGN) with a current NMC registration. Experience in producing well‑developed care plans and detailed risk assessments, up‑to‑date knowledge of recent clinical practices and regulatory frameworks (including DoLS/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines), and a history of acting as a clinical mentor for newly qualified nurses are required. You should be a natural leader, dedicated, ambitious, resilient, with a proven track record of improving quality care.
