Assistant Manager – Debt, Capital & Treasury Advisory

Part of Deloitte’s Financial Advisory practice, the Debt, Capital & Treasury Advisory team provides independent advice and world‑class execution across the full spectrum of debt markets. The team has over 200 professionals globally, with about 80 in the UK, and closes roughly 60 transactions annually in the UK alone. The business has grown at about 20% per year and maintains a start‑up mentality.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a range of debt advisory projects with regular interaction with clients, banks, private credit funds, lawyers, advisors, and other service lines.
  • Assist with day‑to‑day management of transaction processes, including the preparation of information packs, management presentations, financial analysis and client communications.
  • Conduct industry/company research for both deal origination and transaction analysis.
  • Build financial models, analyse business forecasts, create cash‑flow forecasts, perform scenario analysis and covenant calculations.
  • Negotiate commercial terms related to debt structuring within a term sheet.
  • Contribute to marketing and business development activities.
  • Build a network across various transaction parties such as infrastructure funds, banks, private credit funds, lawyers, advisors and Deloitte service lines.

Qualifications & Experience

  • ACA qualification (or equivalent).
  • Excellent numeracy skills with a highly focused attention to detail and ability to analyse large amounts of data quickly.
  • Experience building, operating or reviewing financial models used for forecasting transaction cash flows, meeting debt covenants or investment return thresholds.
  • Strong interest or experience in the infrastructure industry and its underlying sectors (energy, energy transition, transport, social, etc.).
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional service to clients, with ability to work quickly and establish effective working relationships.
  • Perfect fluency in oral and written English.
  • Sound commercial acumen and understanding of UK financial markets and debt‑related products.
  • Logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Proven project management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and workstreams, prioritise and multi‑task.
  • Ability to undertake detailed financial/commercial analysis for inclusion in presentations and client reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence to engage in business development activities.
  • Ability to develop, coach and motivate junior team members.

Location & Working Arrangements

Based in London with a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility to work from local office, virtual collaboration spaces, client sites or remotely. Working arrangements will be discussed with the recruiter to meet the role’s requirements.
