An opportunity for an experienced Electrician to join a well-established Nationwide Facilities Management company based in the West Midlands who carry out pre-planned maintenance, small projects and reactive works on commercial sites across the UK.

We are looking to recruit a qualified Electrician & multi-skilled engineer to join their team of engineers and carry out such works.

The right person will hold relevant qualifications in electrical installation works including test and inspection and hold a clean driving licence.

The engineer will also be responsible for the NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor role.

Possessing additional skills/qualifications would be hugely advantageous but not essential (for example Air Conditioning, Commercial Gas, Plumbing, Fabric) and additional levels of salary can be obtained as a result.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in commercial buildings.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults and implement effective solutions.
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests and urgent electrical issues.
  • Carry out mandatory testing (PAT, Emergency Lighting, Fixed wiring testing etc).
  • Maintain electrical equipment such as lighting, distribution boards, emergency systems, and power outlets.
  • Conduct inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify hazards or defects to prevent breakdowns.
  • Complete compliance paperwork and applicable Certification.
  • Utilise power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and codes while performing tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed via portal CAFM systems.
  • Follow all workplace safety rules (risk assessments, method statements).
  • Maintain safe working practices in live commercial environments.

Candidate Specification: Essential

  • Electrical Inspection and Testing (C&G 2391, Level 3)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Electrotechnical services (or equivalent)
  • Up-to-date with current standards, and assessed for competency in line with 18th Edition BS7671
  • NICEIC qualified supervisor experience
  • Minimum of 5 years electrical experience
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Computer/PDA literate, able to complete and submit electronic reports accurately and effectively
  • Driven with positive attitude, willing and able to carry out large volumes of work

Candidate Specification: Desirable

  • Additional qualifications can increase the salary attained (F-Gas, Gas Safe, NVQ Plumbing/Heating, etc)
