Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assurance at programme level, ensuring that technical change programmes within the Energy and Utilities sector have appropriate architectural design and reduce technical debt.
  • Create and assure key architecture artefacts (e.g., Key Design Decision, Technical Options Paper, High Level Design).
  • Lead as Subject Matter Expert, define vision and establish architectural guardrails.
  • Support senior leaders in shaping change cases, including cost estimation and detailed planning.
  • Work with agile best practices and cross‑functionally with multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Participate in internal projects and client work, with hybrid working flexibility.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading architecture and development teams with end‑to‑end solutions for complex client challenges.
  • Strong understanding of the Energy and Utilities sector, including water, gas, electricity, oil, and nuclear.
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as IBM Maximo, SAP, Billing, CRM and operational systems like SCADA and control systems.
  • Ability to shape and communicate architectural strategies across multiple domains.
  • Skill in building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, translating technical insight into business value.
  • Familiarity with architecture frameworks and modelling tools such as UML and ArchiMate.

Technology Stack

  • Cloud & Platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, IBM, Oracle, Salesforce.
  • Architecture & Delivery: Microservices, packaged solutions, cloud/on‑premise models, agile delivery, digital transformation.
  • Tools & Frameworks: IoT, cloud‑native architectures, UML, ArchiMate.

Assessment Process

  • Quick video call with a Tech Recruiter.
  • Round 1: Competency or technical interview (60 min).
  • Round 2: Competency or technical interview, whichever was not done in round 1 (60 min).
  • Final round: Discussion with a PA leader focusing on client‑centricity (45 min).
