Currently supporting a well-established tech organisation responsible for managing critical infrastructure, who are looking to appoint a Group Financial Accountant into their small but high-performing Finance team.
This is a key role with broad responsibility across accounting, tax, audit, and financial reporting, offering significant ownership and exposure to senior stakeholders including the Executive Team and Board.
Key responsibilities
- Leading month-end and year-end close, including Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reporting
- Ownership of statutory accounts production across Group entities
- Leading external audit process and acting as primary audit contact
- Responsibility for accounting, tax, and compliance (Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE, R&D and other employment taxes)
- Management of accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including line management of two team members
- Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and Group Accounting Manual
- Providing technical accounting guidance on UK GAAP, company law, and HMRC requirements
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and executive-level reporting with insight and commentary
- Acting as finance system super user and supporting wider business usage
- Deputising for the Financial Controller when required
About you
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Strong technical background in financial reporting, tax, and compliance
- Experience leading or supervising small finance teams
- Confident managing audits and statutory accounts preparation
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands‑on environment
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a broad, senior-level finance role with real ownership, visibility, and impact.
The role is paying up to 90k as an FTC or 500 on day rate for a 6 month period with the view of going permanent.
This is a hybrid working role where you will be required into the office 1-3 days per week depending on business requirements.
