We’re hiring for a Mechanical Field Service Engineer to support mobile, vehicle-mounted machinery across the South of England, with Reading acting as the central hub for this role.
This is a practical, field-based role focused on maintaining and repairing specialist mobile equipment on site.
What’s on offer?
- £42k – £45k p/a
- Mon – Fri | 8am – 5pm
- 45 hour week
- Door-to-door pay (standard rate weekdays)
- Overtime paid at 1.5x on Saturdays
- 24 days holiday + bank holidays
- Company vehicle provided (racked & equipped)
- Fuel card
- One overnight stay per week on average (hotel costs covered)
- £25 daily allowance when working away
- 5% pension contribution
- Profit-related bonus (EOT scheme)
What will you be doing as a Mechanical Field Service Engineer?
- Working from home and travelling to customer sites across the South of England
- Carrying out reactive and planned repair work on mobile mixing equipment
- Mechanical fitting and replacement of parts on vehicle-mounted machinery
- Supporting machine calibration (full training provided)
- Basic electrical fault-finding and diagnostics
- Basic hydraulic fault diagnosis
- Light fabrication and MIG welding where required
- Recording machine data and calibration results accurately
- Being the on-site point of contact with customers
- Keeping the company vehicle clean, organised, and inspection-ready
What will you need?
- Previous experience in a field service, plant, mobile engineering, or mechanical repair role
- A full UK driving licence
- Comfortable working independently and travelling for work
