Job Summary

Senior Data Scientist within the Commercial team in Group Protection, responsible for designing and pricing insurance products.

Location

Hove, One City Park – Permanent contract (UK and ROW) / Regular (US)

Responsibilities

  • Developing and delivering data science solutions using a variety of data sources to inform business decision‑making and improve customer outcomes
  • Applying machine learning techniques to design accurate and effective models tailored to business needs
  • Leading stakeholder engagement and managing relationships, translating technical outputs into clear business insights
  • Sourcing, cleansing and engineering data, including performing exploratory analysis and preparing datasets for modelling
  • Visualising model outputs and analytical results to a high standard, championing data visualisation best practice
  • Collaborating with data professionals and stakeholders to automate and productionise data science solutions
  • Ensuring robust documentation and undertaking peer review and quality assurance to maintain accuracy and integrity
  • Providing subject matter expertise across data initiatives to enhance customer experience and business performance

Qualifications

  • Experience working with large and complex datasets with strong attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques and model development approaches
  • Proven ability in data manipulation, feature engineering and dataset creation
  • Experience building and deploying models from experimentation through to production
  • Confidence working with stakeholders, gathering requirements and guiding on analytical approaches
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R and SQL for data science and analysis
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary teams and delivering collaborative data solutions
