Quality Control Technician 12 month fixed term
An opportunity to work in a hands-on role where you will be maintaining a small laboratory and being trained to perform QC checks.
12 month fixed term, full-time role.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high level of lab housekeeping including cleaning benches and floors, cleaning and maintenance of glassware, waste duties and availability of lab PPE.
- Assist in:
- sample management including receipt, booking in, labelling, preparation for analysis, retaining samples and safe removal for disposal.
- sample stability management including liaising with stability site to initiate and remove stability samples for analysis.
- stock management and maintenance of chemicals, glassware and other laboratory consumables
- performing microbial environmental monitoringof designated facility areas.
- preparation of microbial samples for shipment for external analysis
- Ensure that the lab equipment, and associated operating procedures, are maintained including qualification and calibration as required.
- Prepare dissolution media, fill and change dissolution flasks and assist with dissolution sampling of batches.
- Sample and test raw materials, packaging materials and cleaning materials
- Perform physical property testing of samples
- Prepare Mobile Phase, Washes, reagents and volumetric solutions as detailed in documented procedures.
- Adhereto the Companys policies and procedures especially those relating to Health & Safety policies.
- Comply with all aspects of the Millicent Quality System.
- Contribute to a quality culture and an appreciation of the quality system within the QC Laboratory.
- Undertake any other duties, which may be assigned by Laboratory Management.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum A level (Grade A-C) / NVQ in related scientific discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Laboratory Science)
- The ability to work well in a team
- Time management
- Experience with MS office applications
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Desirable Criteria:
- At least 1 years experience working within a laboratory environment
- Experience and understanding of cGMP
- Experience of preparing risk assessments for materials and processes ie COSHH assessment
- Experience of QC testing
