Quality Control Technician 12 month fixed term

An opportunity to work in a hands-on role where you will be maintaining a small laboratory and being trained to perform QC checks.

12 month fixed term, full-time role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of lab housekeeping including cleaning benches and floors, cleaning and maintenance of glassware, waste duties and availability of lab PPE.
  • Assist in:
    • sample management including receipt, booking in, labelling, preparation for analysis, retaining samples and safe removal for disposal.
    • sample stability management including liaising with stability site to initiate and remove stability samples for analysis.
    • stock management and maintenance of chemicals, glassware and other laboratory consumables
    • performing microbial environmental monitoringof designated facility areas.
    • preparation of microbial samples for shipment for external analysis
  • Ensure that the lab equipment, and associated operating procedures, are maintained including qualification and calibration as required.
  • Prepare dissolution media, fill and change dissolution flasks and assist with dissolution sampling of batches.
  • Sample and test raw materials, packaging materials and cleaning materials
  • Perform physical property testing of samples
  • Prepare Mobile Phase, Washes, reagents and volumetric solutions as detailed in documented procedures.
  • Adhereto the Companys policies and procedures especially those relating to Health & Safety policies.
  • Comply with all aspects of the Millicent Quality System.
  • Contribute to a quality culture and an appreciation of the quality system within the QC Laboratory.
  • Undertake any other duties, which may be assigned by Laboratory Management.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum A level (Grade A-C) / NVQ in related scientific discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Laboratory Science)
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Time management
  • Experience with MS office applications
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Desirable Criteria:

  • At least 1 years experience working within a laboratory environment
  • Experience and understanding of cGMP
  • Experience of preparing risk assessments for materials and processes ie COSHH assessment
  • Experience of QC testing
