This rare 4‑day‑a‑week position offers a strong work‑life balance while maintaining a highly influential role within the organisation. The role sits at the heart of the business, working closely with senior leadership to manage and oversee all financial operations. From cash‑flow forecasting to full accounts preparation, this is a hands‑on role where attention to detail and commercial awareness are key. The successful candidate will take ownership of the finance function, ensuring accuracy, compliance and strategic insight across multiple entities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end‑to‑end finance operations including cash‑flow forecasting, budgeting and reporting.
  • Prepare full accounts in‑house and maintain accurate statutory records across multiple entities.
  • Oversee financial planning, analysis and decision support for senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations and internal controls.
  • Lead and support a small finance team, providing guidance and development.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA (essential).
  • Previous experience as a financial controller or similar role.
  • Proven ability to prepare full accounts in‑house.
  • Solid understanding of cash‑flow management and financial reporting.
  • Experience within a property or asset‑based business is highly desirable.
  • Confidence working closely with Directors and contributing to decision‑making.
  • A hands‑on, organised and proactive approach.
  • Ability to manage and support a small finance team.
