Role Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer to support a growing portfolio of advanced CNC and precision engineering equipment across the UK. The role will focus on delivering high-quality service, maintenance and technical support to customers, ensuring equipment reliability and performance standards are consistently met. This is a field-based position involving nationwide travel with occasional overnight stays.

Key Duties

  • Perform planned maintenance, inspections and technical upgrades on precision CNC equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on customer sites
  • Respond to breakdowns and restore equipment to operational status within agreed timeframes
  • Assist with machine installations, commissioning and refurbishment projects where required
  • Complete service documentation and maintain accurate technical records
  • Provide professional and responsive customer support
  • Liaise with internal technical teams to resolve complex issues and maintain service standards

Skills & Experience Required

  • Engineering apprenticeship or relevant technical qualification
  • Multi-skilled engineering background with strong mechanical knowledge
  • Experience working on CNC machinery, precision equipment or other capital machinery within manufacturing environments
  • Confident fault-finding across electrical and mechanical systems
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload independently
  • Flexible to travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays
  • Strong communication skills and a professional customer-facing manner

Salary

Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience
