About the Role
Avantor is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join the UK Service team, covering a key territory in and around London.
This is a field-based role focused on providing technical support across laboratory equipment, ensuring installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair activities are delivered to a high standard while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair laboratory equipment across client sites
- Perform calibration, validation, and preventative maintenance
- Diagnose faults and resolve technical issues independently
- Deliver a high-quality customer experience on-site
- Provide technical guidance and support to customers
- Plan and manage service visits efficiently within the assigned territory
- Identify opportunities to support service and product offerings
Candidate Profile
- Degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in field service or technical support
- Strong electronic and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience working across multiple types of equipment or products
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to learn new technologies
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel across the assigned territory
Location Requirement
Candidates should ideally be based in or near the following areas:
- Surrey
- Buckinghamshire
- Hertfordshire
- Greater London
Additional Information
- Travel required across the South UK / London area
- Ongoing technical training, including quarterly sessions
