About the Role:

An exciting opportunity exists in the Council’s Environmental Services for a Team Leader LGV Driver working from our Depot at Castleford.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive various LGV / Non LGV Vehicles.
  • Lead a small operational team.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and FTA vehicle compliance.
  • Collect waste and recyclable materials from across the district.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Be an ambassador for the Council when dealing with all stakeholders, customers and have excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Deal with conflict situations.
  • Be self-motivated and can motivate others.
  • Have a good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
  • Ability to assess problems and provide practical solutions.
  • Ability to prioritise conflicting demands.
  • Display good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Be able to multi-task and display a flexible working approach.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current clean LGV Driving Licence (category C) with no more than 6 penalty points as per the current national driving penalties system.
  • Driver Certificate of Professional Competence qualification (DCPC).
