The company is seeking a positive, passionate Business Development professional to collaborate with the Head of Sales & Marketing to develop and execute a sales strategy and achieve new business targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing and maintaining prospecting and customer CRM, ensuring all activity is recorded.
  • Conduct cold calling and follow‑up on Sales Force leads.
  • Conduct prospecting research to obtain details of relevant potential customers.
  • Implement and agree a sales development plan with the Head of Sales & Marketing, winning new business and managing resources to the agreed budget targets.
  • Target and develop new self‑generated sales relationships to increase sales volume and maximise profitability.
  • Provide detailed market analysis, including competitor activity and market trends, to support strategic business development.
  • Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of the relevant market sectors to identify and exploit business opportunities.
  • Project‑manage the introduction of new customers into the business, ensuring effective handover to the account management teams.
  • Provide accurate short, medium and long‑term forecasts as necessary to support business planning activities.
  • Protect margins on existing accounts.
  • Work toward developing an own sales team in the longer term.

Desired Candidate Profile

They need a more aggressive type of sales person who is a very strong closer, highly target‑driven, and possesses exceptional negotiation skills to protect sales margins and pinpoint opportunities for price increases. The candidate should identify key decision makers, build relationships with them, and sustain account growth after initial closing. Solution selling is crucial – using Q&A skills to fully explore and uncover client issues and propose fully thought‑through, costed ideas that are fit for the client.

Required Experience

New business sales experience in a similar role within the print and/or marketing services industry is required. The ideal candidate is an accomplished networker, adept at prospecting for sales opportunities, and has a proven track record of self‑generating new business leads.
