Hands‑on senior engineer responsible for designing, operating, and evolving production Kubernetes platforms on AWS EKS. Owns platform epics end‑to‑end and provides technical direction across a shared backlog. This is a senior individual contributor role, not a people‑management post.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate enterprise‑scale Kubernetes (EKS) clusters
- Own cluster lifecycle: upgrades, security, networking, multi‑cluster strategy
- Deliver GitOps‑based deployments (ArgoCD / Flux)
- Build and manage Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform
- Operate and improve platform reliability and production support
- Partner with application, security, and architecture teams
- Provide technical leadership through design reviews, pairing, and mentoring
Required Experience
- Deep, hands‑on Kubernetes production experience (EKS strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of K8s networking, security, and multi‑tenancy
- Proven experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong AWS background (Azure/GCP a plus)
- Solid networking fundamentals (VPC, CIDR, routing, firewalls, DNS)
- Confident with Linux CLI, Bash, and Python
Nice to Have
- Internal Developer Platform / self‑service platform experience
- Multi‑cluster or hybrid cloud environments
