An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a well-established and growing engineering manufacturer based in Coventry.

Operating within a specialist heavy manufacturing environment, our client supplies engineered products into a variety of industrial sectors and continues to invest heavily in UK operations and production capability. This is a varied, hands‑on role supporting a broad range of machinery and equipment within a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.

The successful candidate will join a close‑knit engineering team and take ownership of both planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site.

The Role

This role is heavily focused on maintaining production equipment, with approximately 90% machinery maintenance and 10% facilities support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across site machinery
  • Respond to machine breakdowns and minimise downtime
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults
  • Fault find on motors, drives, sensors and control systems
  • Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Assist with minor facilities maintenance when required
  • Work independently and effectively prioritise workload

Experience Required

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Maintenance Engineering
  • Qualified electrical maintenance background
  • Previous manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Strong CNC machinery experience
  • Multi‑skilled maintenance capability (electrical and mechanical)
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Strong fault‑finding skills
  • Ability to work autonomously

Desirable

  • PLC fault‑finding experience
  • Heavy engineering or machining environment background
  • Facilities maintenance experience
  • Continuous improvement mindset
