BAE Systems are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer – Product Safety to support complex naval defence programmes within the Product Safety team. This role will focus on:

  • Hazard identification and risk management
  • Safety case development and assurance activities
  • Supporting Technical Authorities with product safety expertise
  • Conducting safety assessments across major subsystems and technologies
  • Facilitating HAZID workshops and stakeholder engagement
  • Supporting compliance with defence safety standards including Def Stan 00-056, JSP430, and MIL-STD-882E
  • Strong Product Safety engineering background within defence, naval, or highly regulated industries
  • Experience developing safety cases and managing hazard logs
  • Familiarity with Life Cycle Management (LCM)
  • Knowledge of defence safety standards and frameworks
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Desirable

  • Naval combat systems, sensors, or weapons experience
  • Professional Registration (or working toward)
