BAE Systems are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer – Product Safety to support complex naval defence programmes within the Product Safety team. This role will focus on:
- Hazard identification and risk management
- Safety case development and assurance activities
- Supporting Technical Authorities with product safety expertise
- Conducting safety assessments across major subsystems and technologies
- Facilitating HAZID workshops and stakeholder engagement
- Supporting compliance with defence safety standards including Def Stan 00-056, JSP430, and MIL-STD-882E
- Strong Product Safety engineering background within defence, naval, or highly regulated industries
- Experience developing safety cases and managing hazard logs
- Familiarity with Life Cycle Management (LCM)
- Knowledge of defence safety standards and frameworks
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Desirable
- Naval combat systems, sensors, or weapons experience
- Professional Registration (or working toward)
