Our client, based in the East Cheshire area, are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer.
This is a permanent role paying £50,000 – £55,000 per annum dependant on level of experience.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm, with potential for some flex in these hours to accommodate traffic etc.
The job is commutable from the following areas:
- Crewe
- Middlewich
- Holmes Chapel
- Congleton
- Macclesfield
- Leek
- Northwich
- Knutsford
- Biddulph
- Newcastle-under-Lyme
- North Stoke
To be considered for the Mechanical Project Engineer role, you will need to have 5+ years' experience working within mechanical engineering.
You will ideally be from a process driven environment & understand interactions between moving parts; covering process machinery/plant design & associated ancillary equipment, bearings, shafts, rotating machinery, seals etc.
This is a really varied role dealing with the internal design / manufacturing teams whilst also communicating with the client.
Duties
- Obtain and review client specifications, drawings and analyse results gained from product tests to ensure proposals meet client requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and produce proposal documents to present to the client.
- Working closely with clients and in-house design / production staff to jointly manage the clients requirement.
- Responsible for all project documentation, site surveys and commissioning in the UK.
- Occasional site visits to discuss and update client accordingly, perhaps 3-6 times a year.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree or similar qualification in mechanical engineering.
- 5+ years working in mechanical engineering or a process engineering environment.
- To be conversant with food or chemical process equipment and control systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office.
- Understand engineering drawings produced on SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of mechanical principles and how equipment interacts.
Desirable
- Contract management experience and good commercial awareness.
