Description

The Cloud Engineer will play a key role in operating, supporting and evolving Arrow’s multi-cloud estate, with AWS as the primary platform and Azure as a secondary environment. Working within the Technology team, you will help design and implement secure, scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure that underpins critical business and investment platforms.

This is a hands‑on engineering role suited to a pragmatic technologist who thrives in a fast‑moving environment. You will contribute to infrastructure as code initiatives, hybrid connectivity, governance controls and cloud optimisation, while collaborating closely with Information Security, Data and wider IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and support our AWS (primary) and Azure (secondary) environments in production
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud infrastructure
  • Build and manage infrastructure using Terraform, following an infrastructure-as-code-first approach
  • Support hybrid connectivity between cloud and on‑prem environments
  • Assist in implementing governance controls across multi‑account AWS environments
  • Support Azure platform services including Virtual Machines, networking, storage and identity
  • Monitor cloud environments for security, performance and cost optimisation
  • Contribute to disaster recovery design and resilience testing across AWS and Azure
  • Work closely with Information Security to maintain secure cloud configurations
  • Support CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments
  • Provide technical escalation support to the wider IT team
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across the team
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to modernise and enhance the cloud platform

About you

  • Strong hands‑on AWS experience in production environments
  • Experience with multi‑account AWS environments (AWS Organizations preferred)
  • Solid working knowledge of Azure infrastructure services
  • Experience in hybrid cloud environments between cloud and on‑prem
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking fundamentals (VPC/VNet, DNS, VPN, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute)
  • In‑depth knowledge of IAM, RBAC and cloud security best practices
  • Experience with core AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, Load Balancing, Auto Scaling, CloudWatch)
  • Experience supporting Azure VMs, VNets, Storage Accounts and Entra ID (Azure AD)
  • Hands‑on Terraform experience, including writing reusable modules (required)
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments
  • Experience monitoring production environments, incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis
