Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: West Yorkshire
Salary: £40,000 rising to £42,000 after probation
OTE: £44,000 – £46,000 (with overtime)
Hours: Monday to Friday | Rotating Shifts
Contract: Permanent

The Opportunity

We are seeking a hands‑on Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join a well‑established manufacturing business in West Yorkshire. This is a practical, fast‑paced role, where you will maintain, fault‑find, and repair industrial machinery to maximise uptime and production efficiency. You will also support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and contribute to continuous improvement projects. This position is perfect for an engineer who enjoys electrical fault finding, hands‑on problem solving, and leading by example on the shop floor.

Working Hours

This role operates a rotating shift pattern:

1 week: 6:00am – 2:30pm
1 week: 1:30pm – 10:00pm
2 weeks: 8:00am – 4:30pm

Overtime: Paid at time and a half

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical and mechanical maintenance of industrial machinery
  • Fault finding on electrical systems, including motors, drives, and control panels
  • PLC fault finding and basic diagnostics
  • Planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime
  • Assist with continuous improvement and reliability projects
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
  • Participate in the on‑call rota

Candidate Requirements

  • Time‑served Maintenance Engineer with strong electrical skills
  • 18th Edition electrical qualification (preferred)
  • Hands‑on experience with industrial machinery and equipment
  • Electrical fault finding and troubleshooting experience
  • Basic PLC knowledge for diagnostics
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive, reliable, and hands‑on approach to maintenance
