Pensions Consultant, Assistant Manager – Consulting Team
Isio's Pensions Consulting Team, part of our wider Actuarial & Consulting team of over 400 pensions consultants and actuaries, advises a diverse range of clients and stakeholders across the private, public and not‑for‑profit sectors. The team works collaboratively to deliver innovative, best‑practice solutions for each client's pension needs.
Our consultants take a lead role in providing strategic advice and best‑practice governance. We help clients navigate the complex world of pension regulations and operations, working with trustee boards and companies so they can focus on the day‑to‑day running of the scheme. Our project‑management skills ensure that projects run smoothly, on time, and that all advisors and parties are part of one team. Communication is key to establishing trusted relationships with clients and the members they represent.
What does the role entail?
As a challenger in the industry, we are looking for individuals with sound pensions consulting and technical skills, governance experience, a commercial outlook and an entrepreneurial mindset to join our team.
Day to day responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of advice to clients – this may include managing key client projects directly and supporting our wider teams to deliver to our clients.
- Involved in the technical aspects of projects and working with clients directly, as part of a team and supporting those around you.
- Assisting in the development of new business, both with existing and new clients.
As part of your role, there will be a wide range of opportunities to get involved in a variety of pensions‑consulting areas and have access to a wide range of clients within the Consulting Team. Whatever you’re looking for, we can build a role to suit you and help you develop.
What we're looking for
- Experience – you may currently be a pensions consultant, secretary or in‑house pensions manager with relevant industry experience. Actuarial / PMI qualifications are useful but not essential.
- A great communicator – able to explain complex problems in a simple way to help everyone around the table understand.
- Enthusiasm and motivation – a strong desire to solve problems and deliver excellent advice.
- Strong project‑management and client‑delivery skills – especially when balancing multiple demands.
- A great team worker – keen to support your colleagues.
- Commercial skills – a desire to help us develop our business and look for new opportunities.
Where is the role?
We can offer a range of locations for you to choose from – Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Reading. We work on a hybrid basis, with the opportunity to split your working time between office, client site and at home.
