We are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established building services provider, delivering maintenance across a portfolio of commercial properties in the Birmingham region.

This is a mobile role offering a stable Monday to Friday schedule, a structured workload, and long‑term contract security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical works
  • Fault finding, repairs, and minor installation works
  • Support general building services maintenance (mechanical, HVAC, and fabric tasks)
  • Respond to helpdesk tasks within agreed SLAs
  • Participate in a call‑out rota (approx. 1 in 13)
  • Oversee subcontractors and issue Permits to Work
  • Ensure all equipment operates to required standards
  • Maintain a safe and compliant working environment
  • Deliver a high level of customer service at all times

Requirements

  • Proven experience in building services or facilities maintenance
  • Strong electrical fault‑finding and maintenance background
  • Experience working within commercial environments
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (2356/2357)
  • City & Guilds 2330 Level 3
  • City & Guilds 236/2360 Parts 1 & 2
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)

Desirable

  • City & Guilds 2394/2395 (Inspection & Testing)
  • JIB accreditation
  • IPAF / PASMA Package

Salary & Benefits

  • Pay: £42,000 – £46,000
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Annual leave: 25 days + bank holidays
  • Company van, fuel card, phone & PDA
  • Optional personal use of van
  • Overtime: weekdays & Saturdays x1.5, Sundays x2
  • Call Out allowance (£150 standby)
  • Call Out 1 in 13
