Project Overview

I want to update and improve my current website to create a more professional, modern, and high‑credibility online presence for my mechanical design consultancy. Current site: https://coremech.design/ The new website must communicate expertise, precision, and trust—matching the standard of top engineering and product design agencies.

Reference Websites (Style + Structure Inspiration)

Brand Look

Professional, modern, engineering-focused aesthetic. Clean layouts and strong typography. High-quality imagery conveying precision, innovation, and mechanical expertise. Colour scheme and styling must follow my existing logo (attached in project).

Platform Requirements

The website must be built on WordPress. Should use a clean, flexible theme or modern page builder (Elementor, Gutenberg, Bricks, or similar). Avoid overly complex custom coding so I can easily edit content later. Final deliverable must allow me to manage and update content without developer assistance.

Functionality

Fast‑loading, lightweight, and smooth user experience. Clean animations and transitions similar to the reference sites. Fully mobile responsive. Clear navigation and strong visual hierarchy. Contact forms optimised for lead generation. Optional: subtle scroll effects, case study sliders, icon animations, etc.

SEO Aspirations

Developer should recommend and implement a modern SEO strategy. Proper on‑page SEO setup (titles, meta, schema, alt tags, heading structure). Optimised site architecture for ranking and crawling. Aim: generate leads through improved visibility and keyword targeting. Optional but useful: Google Analytics, Google Search Console setup.

User Journeys (Recommended structure)

  • Potential new clients: Quickly understand what services I offer; view examples of past work / case studies; see credibility indicators (process, expertise, industries served); easily contact me or request a project discussion.
  • Returning clients: Access updated portfolio items; find contact details or book follow-up work easily.
  • General visitors discovering through SEO: Be guided to core service areas; understand my value proposition quickly; be invited to learn more or make contact.

The developer should design the structure to support these journeys smoothly.

Maintenance Expectations

Website will be maintained by me, so it should be easy to update using relatively basic WordPress skills. Use modular templates and simple backend structure. Avoid unnecessary plugins. Provide brief handover documentation if required.

Hosting Preferences

Site is currently hosted via a family member. Open to discussing moving to a paid, reliable hosting provider if preferable for performance and maintainability. Developer may advise on the best hosting setup for WordPress.

Content

Most content can be taken from the existing website. Developer is welcome to suggest improvements to structure, layout, and imagery. Must remain easy for me to edit or add new content later (e.g., new projects).

Deliverables

  • Fully built WordPress website.
  • Clean, professional, modern design inspired by the reference sites.
  • Mobile-responsive across all devices.
  • SEO-ready structure and optimisations.
  • Transfer of website and admin rights.
  • Any design assets, templates, or documentation used.
