Urgent Requirement – Specialist Site Manager Needed – Immediate Start
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civil Site Manager to support the delivery of a major 400kV Substation.
This role requires experience working on National Grid substations, with responsibility for site leadership, safety management and delivery of civils works on a complex infrastructure project.
The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with strict compliance standards.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing day-to-day site operations, including operatives and subcontractors
- Leading delivery of civil works on power / substation projects
- Producing and managing RAMS, construction phase plans and site documentation
- Delivering toolbox talks, site inductions and daily briefings
- Overseeing health, safety and quality compliance on site
- Conducting site inspections and progress monitoring
- Managing temporary works and safe systems of work (SSoW)
- Supporting programme delivery and resolving on-site issues
- Maintaining detailed site records, reports and documentation
What They're Looking For
- Experience as a PCSM on National Grid Substations up to 400kV
- Strong understanding of health & safety, RAMS and site compliance
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Essential: SMSTS, CP NSI 6&8, HSG47 Substations, SR163 Accreditation, Manual Handling, Lifting Supervisor
- Desirable: SSE Authorisation minimum of CAT1C
