Overview:

The Plant Controller serves as the on-site financial leader for the Precision Parts division, providing hands-on oversight of all plant-level accounting activities, financial reporting, and cost management. This role ensures accurate, timely financial information to support operational decision-making, maintain compliance, and strengthen internal controls. The Plant Controller works closely with the General Manager, Corporate Finance, and on-site Operations to achieve financial transparency and drive performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and oversee fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules.
  • Oversee all plant-level accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll review, and month-end close.
  • Develop the plant’s annual budget in coordination with division leadership and corporate finance.
  • Provide monthly forecasts, risk/opportunity analyses, and financial modeling to support strategic decisions.
  • Serve as the financial advisor to the General Manager and department leaders by translating data into actionable insights.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, audit requirements, and state/federal regulations.
  • Supervise and develop any on-site accounting staff or shared administrative resources assigned to financial functions (if applicable).

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Preferred – CPA or CMA certification.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in precision/metal manufacturing industry
  • Prior experience as a Plant Controller, Assistant Controller, or Cost Accounting Manager in precision machining or metal manufacturing industries.
  • Strong MS excel and ERP systems experience
