Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager

Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

Salary: Up to £65,000

A regional M&E Contractor are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their growing team in Cambridge. The business delivers high quality M&E solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects within the Commercial, Education, Research & Technology, Healthcare and Leisure sectors with project values typically ranging from £2m to £6m. This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable contractor with a strong pipeline of work and a collaborative working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the projects are completed according to schedule and budget, undertaking effective planning.
  • Manage materials, direct labour and sub-contractors, installation, procurement and drawing programmes to accord with installation and specification requirements.
  • Liaison with clients, supply chain, delivery teams and senior management.
  • Financial management of projects including procurement.
  • Monitor project programme and project planning.
  • Attend and lead project meetings.
  • Oversee working practices, ensuring compliance with HSE policies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • You will have SMSTS, CSCS skills card and relevant industry qualification.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing mechanical projects up to £6m (M&E).
  • Working for a Building Services Contractor at a similar level.
  • Overall knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of mechanical systems and their installation methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of managing various stages of design process.
  • Consistently good financial returns on projects, considering all relevant factors.
  • Understanding of project procurement.
  • Good people management and motivational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet set deadlines.
  • Ability to plan, co-ordinate and prioritise workloads.
  • Strong results orientation.
