Due to continued expansion and strategic growth, an opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Financial Controller to work closely with senior leadership, providing high-quality financial insight, strengthening reporting frameworks, and supporting performance improvement across the business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys operating in a dynamic environment and influencing strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow reporting, and KPI analysis
  • Deliver insightful variance analysis and commentary to support leadership decisions
  • Manage group reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to provide clear and actionable financial insight
  • Collaborate with operational managers to improve KPI visibility and performance tracking
  • Oversee preparation of year-end statutory financial statements
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Provide commercial analysis on strategic initiatives and business decisions
  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations including reconciliations, VAT, expenses, and payables/receivables
  • Support alignment between financial reporting and wider strategic planning activity
  • Enhance financial systems, controls, and reporting processes to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Monitor cost performance against budgets and business objectives
  • Support financial integration activities relating to acquisitions and growth initiatives

Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified with a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Experience working within a small or scaling finance function
  • Background in professional services (desirable)
  • Strong financial planning and analysis capability
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong systems literacy
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities in fast-paced environments
  • Confidence using data to support performance management and decision-making
