About The Role
The Senior IoT & Connectivity Solutions Engineer plays a pivotal role in the design and assurance of smart‑city and connectivity solutions across the UK. The role supports Boldyn’s commercial and delivery functions by developing end‑to‑end, infrastructure‑led solutions that are scalable, operationally robust, and competitive within the market. The position blends hands‑on IoT engineering, carrier‑grade connectivity awareness, and solution leadership to ensure customer requirements are met within real‑world urban and infrastructure constraints.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Act as the technical lead in smart‑city and connectivity solution development, delivery and presales activities
- Support the Commercial function with expert technical input during bid preparation, customer workshops, and presentations
- Lead the design of end‑to‑end solutions spanning sensors, edge devices, connectivity (public/private cellular and fixed), platforms, and integrations
- Capture and translate customer requirements into clear technical solutions, scopes of work, and costed designs
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure that solutions and costs are prepared on time
- Act as subject matter expert on the variety of technical solutions available in the market, providing objective advice and presenting strengths and limitations of competitors’ products
- Liaise with Technology, Commercial, and Delivery teams to ensure solutions are accurate, timely, and deliverable
- Contribute to the creation of winning proposals in partnership with Commercial and Delivery teams
- Keep up to date with all vendor innovations and solutions to propose the most appropriate and cost‑effective solutions for bids
