Job Title: CNC Turner – Fanuc Controls (Small Components)

Location: Accrington

Department: Machine Shop

Salary: £16.50 – £19.00 per hour depending on experience + shift allowance (TBC)

Working Hours: 38 hours per week

Overtime: 1.5×

Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday 6:55 am – 4:55 pm, 38 hours per week, shift allowance (if applicable) to be confirmed

About the Role

  • Manufacture small precision components to customer specifications
  • Work from detailed engineering drawings and offline programming documents
  • Play a key role in maintaining production quality, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Work within a fast‑paced precision machining environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC turning machines with Fanuc controls
  • Manufacture small batch and medium batch precision components
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
  • Set tooling, touch off tools, and set work offsets
  • Adjust speeds, feeds, and offsets to maintain tight tolerances
  • Change tools/inserts and monitor tool wear
  • Download, prove out, and save CNC programs
  • Use measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, and thread gauges
  • Inspect components to ensure they meet drawing specifications
  • Report any quality or production issues to supervisor or inspector
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance and housekeeping
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience setting and operating CNC turning machines
  • Strong experience with Fanuc controls
  • Experience machining small precision components
  • Ability to work to tight tolerances
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience working to production targets and deadlines
  • High attention to detail
  • Self‑motivated and reliable

Desirable

  • Experience with live tooling and multi-axis lathes
  • Experience in a precision engineering or subcontract environment
  • Forklift truck training preferred
