We are working alongside a long standing client who are a market-leading main contractor based in Oxfordshire and are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Special Works Division, delivering a diverse portfolio of projects valued up to £4m.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly established and reputable business, known for delivering high-quality construction projects. Working within a dynamic and supportive team, you will gain exposure to a wide range of refurbishment and new build projects.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in managing projects from pre‑construction through to final account, across a varied mix of works including:

  • Heritage refurbishment projects across universities and colleges
  • New build projects
  • Minor works and specialist refurbishment schemes
  • Projects ranging up to £4m in value

You will play a key role in ensuring commercial success, working closely with project managers, site teams, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing project costs from inception to completion
  • Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
  • Contract administration and risk management
  • Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Cost reporting and forecasting
  • Supporting project delivery teams to ensure commercial performance
  • Building and maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships

Requirements

  • Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
  • Experience delivering refurbishment and/or new build projects
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) preferred
