To provide assurance to the Council's Director of Finance and the Director of Transformation highlighting key issues and requiring attention. Provide technical support and assistance to budget holders during the development and delivery of projects and programmes. Track, monitor and report the running costs of the direct resources aligned to the Transformation Programme Carry out scenario and design modelling whilst understanding the financial impact of changes to service delivery and/ or income levels. Ensure robust and consistent financial management practices are in place. Develop and maintain relationships with other members of the finance team. Take part in finance induction of new staff members as appropriate. Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 3 years local government finance experience. A good understanding of budgetary control and financial management/strategic financial planning Experience of working as part of a busy accounting function. Experience of working with senior managers and elected Members and political awareness. Ability to build project costs and benefits from a zero base for each project area whilst ensuring that all key assumptions are documented. High levels of attention to detail.
