About The Role

As a Manager on the Solutions Engineering team at Mixpanel, you will lead a talented group of analytics consultants who are pivotal to our success. You will be at the forefront of driving customer value, guiding your team as they serve as the primary technical resources for our Sales organization. This role is a unique blend of leadership, technical expertise, and business strategy. You will be responsible for coaching and developing your team, refining our technical sales processes, and collaborating across departments to ensure our customers achieve their business outcomes with Mixpanel. You will also play a key role in hiring, onboarding, and managing the next wave of Solutions Engineers. By fostering a culture of excellence and deep customer empathy, you will empower your team to architect innovative solutions, drive product adoption, and ultimately secure the technical win with prospects and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and grow a high‑performing, inclusive team of Solutions Engineers, investing in their career development and upholding a high standard of performance.
  • Partner closely with Sales leadership and Account Executives to provide technical expertise that drives new, retained, and expansion ARR, ensuring your team’s activities contribute to the company’s bottom line.
  • Guide your team through complex customer evaluations and technical challenges, managing resources to align skills to needs and achieve productivity targets.
  • Act as a key technical liaison, collaborating with peer managers across Sales, Product, and Engineering, gathering and synthesizing customer feedback to influence product strategy and solve problems at scale.
  • Translate company and departmental strategy into clear, actionable goals for your team, guiding them through evolving business priorities with empathy and clarity.
  • Assess team needs, build a pipeline of top talent, and hire outstanding individuals to elevate capabilities and contribute to an inclusive culture.
  • Continuously seek to improve team operations, refine demo strategies and proof‑of‑concept methodologies, and adopt new tools and processes that increase effectiveness and celebrate success.

We’re Looking For Someone Who

  • Has progressive experience in a B2B SaaS environment, including 3+ years of people‑management experience leading a technical pre‑sales, solutions engineering, or professional services team.
  • Exhibits a player‑coach mentality with deep knowledge in the data and analytics space, and is expert on how data products (like CDPs, data warehouses, and analytics tools) are implemented and adopted by customers.
  • Is a proven cross‑functional partner with a track record of successfully working with sales teams to navigate complex deals and drive revenue.
  • Demonstrates expertise in communicating complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Is skilled at prioritizing team activities and managing workload in a dynamic environment, balancing customer needs with efficiency goals.
  • Is a natural mentor and developer of talent, with a passion for coaching and a history of building inclusive, high‑achieving teams.
  • Handles ambiguity with ease, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive, problem‑solving mindset when adapting to new challenges and business priorities.
